Did you know that since March 2007 if you own a pet then you have a legal responsibility ensure that your pet gets five basic welfare needs?

If you didn't then here they are:

1. You have to ensure that you pet has a proper diet, including fresh water
2. Your pet should have somewhere suitable to live
3. You should be aware whether your pet needs to be housed with other animals or kept apart from certain animals
4. You should allow you pet to express normal behaviour
5. You should protect your pet and treat it if it becomes ill or gets ingured
